The original 1960's Assessment space was limited to a couple of paved and cobbled surfaces together with a handrail, situated on the rear access road.
The current provision was little used, overgrown by trees from the neighbouring school and had suffered greatly from a lack of use and maintenace.
The main objective was to provide a more specialised assessment space that was larger, safer and could be used by all clients.
Part of the staff carpark had already been taken to provide a compound for the plant servicing the new workshops and left a secured space that could be used as an Assessment Zone.
Stride Treglown Architects (Bournville's Office) were commissioned to devlope the design alongside the service providers and service users.
